BRAVADO - "The" Breed Above The Best!
BREED ORIGIN :
The development of the Bravado breed of cattle began four decades ago. By carefully blending superior genetics from various sources – primarily registered Limousin and Brahman genetics - we were fortunate enough to create an entirely new breed. Today, virtually every animal in the International Bravado Breeders Association (IBBA) registry traces back to the first Polled Limousin cattle that were imported from Canada and the first polled cows originally selected to build the breed. For all of these years the breed founders have been mating polled bulls to polled females in order to concentrate to Polled gene. Hence, the Bravado breed was born.
Dr. John Lasley, author of the book “Genetics of Livestock Improvement” - predicted that the breed of the future would be characterized as follows:
1. Polled
2. Red in color
3. Have a touch of ear
Today that prediction has become a reality!

BREED COLORS :
- Bravado – red color with dark points – nose, eyes and hooves. This is the preferred color for the Bravado breed
- Carmel – typical Limousin color.
- Mahogany – a dark wine color without the dark points.
- Black – solid black
